
Virginia Baird
Dr Virginia Baird [BMedSci (Hons), MBBS, PhD, FRACGP, FPAA Nat.Cert.RSH] is a GP with a specific interest in women’s health, particularly breast medicine and the perimenopause/menopause.
Virginia studied at the University of Sydney, and the University of Birmingham in the UK. She holds a PhD in neuropharmacology and has completed a FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health.
She is currently training as a Breast Physician and working as a GPSI in the Breast Clinic at the Royal Hobart Hospital, and at BreastScreen Tasmania. She is a surgical assistant for breast surgeons Dr Sivarajah and Dr Mills, and a UTAS tutor in women’s health with a focus on vulvovaginal health.
Virginia worked for Family Planning Tasmania for over 7 years and now works at North Hobart Surgical as a women’s health GP, focusing on breast medicine and the perimenopause/menopause.
She is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society, the Australasian Society for Breast Disease, and an associate member of the Australasian Society for Breast Physicians.
